Jim followed in his grandfather’s steps, restarting Sheet Metal Inc.’s operations in 2008 and acquiring H&K Sheet Metal Fabricators in its entirety in 2018. This acquisition, along with hard work, determination, and vision, has propelled SMI to be one of Alaska’s largest and most successful full-service, in-house, design-build mechanical contractors.
Darrell Koontz General Manager
Darrell has been in the HVAC/Mechanical industry in Alaska for over 30 years. He continues to serve Alaska’s sheet metal industry as the General Manager of Sheet Metal Inc. and is a strong support behind SMI’s team. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake.
